THE AAM Aadmi Party (AAP) Monday announced that it would hold a rally at Kolianwali village in Lambi of Muktsar, the constituency of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, on December 28. The party also said it may announce a candidate against the CM at the rally, which will be addressed by AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Even as the party is yet to finalise the candidate who will be fielded against CM, sources said AAP MLA from Rajouri Garden and Punjab co-incharge Jarnail Singh may be fielded. A former scribe with a Hindi daily, Jarnail had flung a shoe towards then finance minister P Chidambaram during a press conference at Delhi in 2009 claiming that he was “angered over clean chit to Sajjan Singh and Jagdish Tytler for their alleged involvement in the 1984 anti Sikh riots.”
A senior leader from AAP said, “The party will finalise the candidate from Lambi in two-three days but most probably Jarnail Singh is going to be our candidate from Lambi. There were discussions of changing H S Phoolka’s seat from Dakha to Lambi but the plan has been dropped.”
