Punjabi Singer Sharry Mann´s News song in which he seems promoting Daaru ( Liquor) is being criticized on Social Media. Viewers are slamming Sharry Mann for promoting Daaru.
Famous song of Sharry Mann was ‘Yaar Anmulle’, which was dedicated to friendship in college and the fun of those days. Similarly, the new Punjabi song Hostel by Sharry Mann is based on hostel life.
Latest Punjabi track of Sharry Mann starts with – ‘jithe charcha si kithe yaaran wali tahni da, jithe khaab sajaya mainsi meri rani da’. And the tagline says-‘manu ik de lyi hostel wala kamra de deyo ji, main ral yaaran nal othe daru peeni ae’.

Its notable that Punjabi songs are glorifying Liquor, violence and drugs with suggestive and provocative videos accompanying them, reveals a study. Around 60% of the 200 youth interviewed across universities in Punjab are listening to Punjabi music that has reference to drugs, violence and is demeaning to women. Their song selection is directly reflected in their personality, as psychometric test has relieved that youths are highly inclined to become drug addicts and indulge in violence.
