Ruckus in Punjab assembly

A legislator of the Aam Aadmi Party, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, was injured during the melee that ensued while the protesting AAP MLAs were being forcibly evicted from the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Thursday.
Manuke fell unconscious and had to be taken out on a stretcher and rushed to Government Medical Superspecialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh.

She is learnt to have been hit in the head during the scuffle of AAP MLAs with the assembly marshals, who were carrying out the Speaker’s orders.
Besides Manuke, who is the Jagraon MLA, Manjit Singh, the Nihal Singh Wala MLA, was also rushed to the hospital.
Doctors said both of them are stable and will be discharged later in the day.
Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal along with party leaders Bikram Singh Majithia and NK Sharma visited the two AAP MLAs. Majithia brought Manjit Singh’s turban, which was tossed in the Vidhan Sabha.
