Girl violates traffic rule, alleges of being harassed by cop in Ludhiana

High drama was witnessed at Bharat Nagar Chowk today after a girl alleged that a traffic police woman pulled her by arm. The girl called his father, who claimed to be a Congress leader. He exchanged heated arguments with the traffic police.
The incident occurred at a special naka in the morning.
Ashwani, traffic in-charge of Zone A, said the women traffic police signalled a girl, who was riding a scooter without helmet, to stop. But the girl tried to escape. The traffic police stopped her by gently pulling her scooter. The girl called his father, who misbehaved with the traffic police.

Sources said the girl’s father alleged that his daughter was roughly pulled by her arm by the traffic police and they also misbehaved with her. Her father, along with his supporters, gathered at Bharat Nagar Chowk following the incident.
Ashwani, however, said the girl was not pulled by her arm rather the police women pulled her scooter from behind. The girl’s father misbehaved with the traffic police, he added. He said later, a compromise was reached and the girl was allowed to go after she was issued a challan.
